Welcome back, Anna! Congrats to your baby girl. I'm not a father yet, but I can see how parenthood changes you. I never saw that perspective about being a mom before, so thank you for that. Great read!
Completely understand, Anna. There have been several moments these past months we've had similar thoughts but in all honesty the pleasures of writing and of sharing a few minutes of joy a couple of times a month (inconsequential as they may be in the scheme of things), are enough to keep us going
Thanks for your comment – it’s really nice to know I’m not alone in feeling this way. I agree, we all deserve small moments of joy no matter the circumstances.
Thanks for this. I lost my paying full time job of 24 years last week and so my tone has to change as my world shifts. I think Im not alone in saying we are here for your real voice.
Oh Jessica, I am so sorry to hear you lost your job – especially after 24 years. Hoping a new opportunity will come your way soon. Thanks for the encouragement 💛
Your feelings are valid, and I felt similarly as a new mom. Now that my little one is a toddler, that concern and protectionism has turned into hope and work to make a positive impact in my local community. That's given me a sense of control despite everything going on in the world. With time, I know that this reset will be a good thing for you. The best is yet to come.
Thank you for your wisdom and perspective as someone who has been in my place before. As difficult as transitions are, in hindsight they’re usually the moments that shape us most, so I think you’re right that there are better days ahead 💛
Hey Anna, thanks for this, it’s very touching and I completely agree. I recently wrote a piece about working on minimum wage and not being able to eat anything other than scraps from work for breakfast, which came from a similar place. Thanks for speaking out, and look forward to what comes next for you 🙏x
Thank you for reading, so glad my feelings resonated with you. And thanks for sharing your piece! I just read it in its entirety. I'm sorry your management wouldn't even let the staff have a few pieces of fruit for breakfast. There's enough wealth in the world for every single person to live comfortably – it's such a shame most of us are pinching pennies.

Thanks so much Daniel! I’m really looking forward to sharing more as I move through this new chapter of life.

Thanks for reading also. Fruit too, such a basic for health and something that grows on trees....
