About Hungry with Ideas

Hey there, welcome to Hungry with Ideas! I’m Anna, a video journalist (and food lover) originally from the U.S. but now based in Nice, France. This newsletter was born as a place to dive deeper into the stories behind my work as a food journalist and my personal travels. I believe that every meal tells the story of the hands that made it, and savoring it can be an adventure in its own right. Hungry with Ideas is my culinary travelogue, with a focus on culture and history, and an inside look at how some of the best products are made.

About me

I’m an American video producer and writer living in Nice, France. After to moving to Europe five years ago, I found my passion in storytelling through food. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of filming food documentaries for companies like the BBC, Insider, and Eater. I spend about half the year on the road filming, traveling, and of course, EATING.

Favorite foods: Mom’s blueberry pancakes, Egyptian Koshary, Curry Vindaloo, the chicken cutlet sandwich from 7-11 in Japan, and anything with coconut
